It's better if you watch an event live instead of streaming a YouTube video because page load time can affect how long it takes for you to initially buffer the movie.
I am using Verizon DSL now, and it's extremely slow compared to most other high-speed connections, but it's all that I can get now. Watching a live feed requires the occasional buffer and it all depends on who's doing what on the network, most of the time.
