I dont think the games have lost their shines. There are still many gamers alive including me. The gaming industry has improved alot. Playing games with new graphic drivers is awsome.

I'm not sure if it's just me or not but it seems as though video games have stopped being as fun as they used to be. I remember playing Super Smash brothers on the N64 and going crazy about it. I also have fond memories of playing Super Mario World 3, one of the greatest games ever. With everything being focused on processing power, and graphics I feel as though the essence of gaming (having fun) has been lost.

Feel free to share your ideas and comments.

It much depends on your perception of the game. I used to play Heroes III for many years. I was so fond of that when the new version came out, I frankly disliked it.

Well, not really. After endless hours of work or studying, you need a hobby that doesn`t overwhelm you. Simply put, gaming is my way to relax (not my lifestyle :) )

Gaming can never loose its charm.
I never spent any day without gaming. People of my kind will raise it all

I remember when games were about gameplay, not 21388 polygons on the main characters left testicle and 350kbs quality music. I'll admit, an immersive environment with good story and tracks adds a lot to a game, but if the gameplay sucks, then the game is nothing more than a tech demo as far as I'm concerned.

To this day, the Ultima series is the only game I've played where I can take anything that isn't nailed down.

Some games lose their shine, yes, but where you put one down there are so many that you can pick up. It all depends on how much money and time you're willing to spend to find a good game to stick with.

For me, it's not exactly video games but the genre that I play...when I was little, I used to love Final Fantasy, Pokemon, all the RPGs. Now it all just seems pointless...
Which is why I play shooters now! :)

I remembered when I first picked up a video game, I was hooked. Back then I played games such as pokemon. Nowadays I just pick up the controller and love playing FPS and games like Final Fantasy, things change so much
