will onlive work?

Whats everyone's opinion here. There have been so many skeptics out there claiming that Onlive won't work. Steve Perlman, on the other hand says it will.

The launch date is set for Winter 2009. What is everyone's opinions as to whether Onlive will be successful by then?

well it has to, adn it will

because as new revenue models show, people are slowing down upgrading their pc's

and it's better to earn from them on a monthly basis by providing them access to services than giving them hardware themselves.

it was started by google( docs), and new companies are starting/capitalising on this new revenue model.

o it will work, no doubt about it, it's just that it will take some time in letting the internet speed catch upto it.

but as the history tells us, market is the mother of all inventions...

Gaming is not love its craze so anything related to gaming cannot flop at all..
